Dressing For Your Proposal

Proposals have become grandiose events that can set the tone for the actual wedding. People put on elaborate displays of affection and have made it their mission to find the most exclusive venues for this milestone. However, it’s also important to consider your attire for the day as it will be a day she remembers. While she probably won’t reject your proposal simply because of your clothes, it’s another way to show that you really care about her. Therefore, there are a few things to keep in mind for your outfit when you pop the question.

Wear a tailored suit. You can never go wrong with a suit as it’s the epitome of class and sophistication. She will remember how suave you looked when you got down on one knee and it’ll be perfect if you plan to hire a photographer to commemorate the event. Remember, get your suit custom tailored if it doesn’t fit properly because it will look disastrous otherwise.

Polo shirts can be worn at casual events. You should still care about your attire even if your proposal venue is more on the informal side. However, it’s understandable if you don’t want to wear a suit because it can be a little strange in certain circumstances and somewhat too obvious if you really want to surprise her. Pair your polo shirt with a pair of khakis for a perfect blend.

Don’t forget to wear proper shoes. Running shoes should be discarded for a nice pair of dress shoes or boat shoes depending on what you wear. Also, socks should match the colour of your pants to ensure your look is as refined as can be for your big day.
